The team, commonly called Göztepe or Göz-Göz, competes in Turkish professional football and returned to the Süper Lig for the 2024–25 season after earning promotion from the TFF First League. Its greatest domestic achievements include winning the Turkish Cup in 1969 and 1970, followed by the Turkish Super Cup in 1970. Göztepe also made a notable mark in European competition, reaching the quarter-finals of the 1968–69 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup and the semi-finals of the 1969–70 European Cup Winners’ Cup. The club plays at Gürsel Aksel Stadium, a modern venue in UEFA Super Cup0 opened in 2020, with a capacity of approximately 20,000 spectators. Recent squads have featured players such as Romulo Cardoso, Juan Santos and Mateusz Lis, alongside Turkish talent and international recruits.
