The Monterrey Open is an annual professional tennis tournament held in Monterrey, Mexico. It is also known as the Abierto de Monterrey and is a part of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) Tour. The event has been taking place since 2009 and is played on outdoor hard courts at the Club Sonoma in the city. Many top players from the WTA Tour participate in the event, including the likes of Angelique Kerber, Victoria Azarenka, and Garbiñe Muguruza. In addition, the tournament also hosts a doubles competition which features some of the top pairs in women's tennis. The Monterrey Open offers a total prize money of $275,000 and draws a large crowd of avid tennis fans each year.
