The Wuhan Open is a professional women’s tennis tournament held in Wuhan, Hubei, China, and is part of the WTA 1000 calendar. Matches are played on outdoor hard courts at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center, a purpose-built venue with multiple courts and a central stadium for headline matches. The event features a singles draw of individual players and a doubles draw of partnerships, rather than competing national teams. It debuted in 2014, ran annually through 2019, and returned to the WTA Tour in 2024 after a break. The Wuhan Open has attracted many of the sport’s leading players, including former champions Petra Kvitova, Caroline Garcia and Aryna Sabalenka. Sabalenka won the title in 2018, 2019 and 2024, making her one of the tournament’s most successful competitors. The event typically takes place in the autumn and offers fans a chance to watch high-level women’s tennis in a major Chinese city. For tournament information, visitors can follow the draw, match schedule, player entries, results and venue details as the competition approaches.
