The Baltic Open was a professional women’s tennis tournament held in Jurmala, Latvia, from 22 to 28 July 2019. Staged on outdoor clay courts at the National Tennis Centre Lielupe, it marked the first WTA Tour event hosted in Latvia. The tournament was part of the WTA International category and featured a singles draw and a doubles competition, bringing international players to the Baltic coast during the European clay-court season. Latvia’s leading player, Anastasija Sevastova, won the singles title in front of home fans, defeating Poland’s Katarzyna Kawa in a three-set final. The event also showcased competitors from across Europe and beyond, while doubles teams added another title contest to the week’s schedule. The Baltic Open offered local spectators the chance to see top-level women’s tennis at a dedicated stadium venue and helped raise the profile of tennis in Latvia. Although the tournament was held for one edition, its results, players and setting remain notable in the history of Latvian tennis. For fans searching for Baltic Open tennis results, players, venue details or tournament history, Jurmala’s 2019 event is the key edition to know.
