The Triathlon World Series, officially known as the World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS), is an international elite circuit featuring some of the world’s leading triathletes. Athletes compete for their countries as individuals, rather than as members of permanent club teams, in a season of races hosted in cities around the world. Each standard-distance event typically combines a 1.5-kilometre swim, a 40-kilometre bicycle leg and a 10-kilometre run, though race formats can vary by venue. Competitors earn points throughout the season, with standings determining the overall champions. The series also features mixed relay racing, in which teams of two women and two men each complete a shorter triathlon leg. There is no single home stadium: courses are staged in public settings such as waterfronts, city centres and purpose-built event areas, with temporary transition zones and spectator facilities. This global triathlon competition is known for fast racing, tactical pack cycling and close finishes. Follow the Triathlon World Series for race schedules, host venues, athlete profiles, results and championship updates.
