The GKSS Spring Cup is a sailing competition organized by the Royal Gothenburg Yacht Club, known by its Swedish abbreviation, GKSS. Staged in Gothenburg, Sweden, the event welcomes sailors to race on a marked course in the waters near the club’s sailing centre at Långedrag. Unlike a football or athletics tournament, the Spring Cup has no stadium: spectators follow the action from the shore or from suitable viewing points around the harbour. The participating teams, individual sailors and boat classes can differ from one edition to another, depending on the event programme and entries, so current race information is the best guide to the field. Competitors test their boat handling, tactical judgement and ability to respond to changing wind and water conditions, with results decided through the scheduled races. As a seasonal fixture in the Swedish sailing calendar, the GKSS Spring Cup offers a chance to follow local and visiting sailors in a distinctive coastal setting. For event dates, class details, entry lists and results, consult the latest information published by GKSS.
