The Yangzhou Jianzhen International Half Marathon is a major athletics event held in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. Named for Jianzhen, the influential Buddhist monk born in the region, the race brings elite distance runners and recreational participants together for a 21.0975-kilometre road competition. Unlike a team-sport fixture, it has no opposing clubs or fixed player line-ups: athletes compete individually, representing their countries, regions, or running teams. The event is associated with Yangzhou Sports Park, which serves as a key venue for race activities, while the course takes runners through the city’s urban streets and historic surroundings. Slender West Lake and the Grand Canal are among the landmarks that help give the race its distinctive setting. The half marathon has earned international recognition and attracts both leading professional runners and a large mass-participation field. For spectators and visitors, it offers a chance to experience competitive road running alongside Yangzhou’s cultural heritage.
