Banskobystrická latka is an annual indoor high jump meeting held in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia, and is one of the best-known specialist athletics events in Central Europe. First staged in 1993, the competition brings leading men’s and women’s high jumpers together to compete individually rather than as club or national teams. Athletes attempt progressively higher bars, with each competitor allowed a limited number of attempts at each height. The meeting takes place in the Športová hala Dukla, an indoor sports hall that provides a close-up setting for spectators and supports fast, technical competition. Banskobystrická latka has attracted international stars, including Qatari jumper Mutaz Barshim, who cleared 2.42 metres at the event in 2021, and high-level competitors from across Europe and beyond. Its compact format, elite field and enthusiastic crowd make it a prominent stop on the international indoor athletics calendar. For fans searching for Banskobystrická latka results, athletes, venue information or high jump highlights, the event offers a clear showcase of one of track and field’s most dramatic disciplines.
