The Maurie Plant Meet is an annual athletics competition held in Melbourne, Australia, and a prominent fixture on the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold calendar. Named in honour of respected Australian athletics administrator Maurie Plant, the meet brings Australian and international athletes together for elite track and field events. Competitors represent their countries, clubs or training groups rather than traditional team sides, with individual performances deciding event results. The programme can include sprint and distance races, hurdles, jumps and throws, with the schedule and athlete field changing from year to year. The event is staged at Lakeside Stadium in Albert Park, a Melbourne venue equipped for track and field competition. Fans can follow leading athletes as they pursue strong performances, rankings and qualifying standards, while emerging competitors gain experience alongside established names. For visitors, the meet offers a chance to watch high-level athletics in a central Melbourne setting. Check the official event schedule and results for the latest information on dates, participating athletes, events and ticket details.
