The Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is a professional multi-stage road cycling race held in southeastern France, where riders tackle varied terrain across the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Formerly known as the Critérium du Dauphiné, the event is part of the UCI WorldTour calendar and traditionally takes place in June, offering teams a demanding test ahead of the Tour de France. There is no single stadium: the race venue is the changing road course, with stage starts and finishes hosted by towns and cities and mountain routes through the Alps often shaping the general classification. Competing teams typically include leading WorldTour squads, bringing sprinters, climbers, time-trial specialists and support riders. Individual cyclists, rather than “players,” race for stage victories, the overall title and other classifications, including points and mountain standings. The route and participating riders vary by edition, so fans should check the latest schedule and start list for confirmed stages, teams and contenders. With high-altitude climbs, tactical racing and varied stage profiles, the Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes is a key fixture for following elite cycling in France.
