The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic was a professional men’s one-day road cycling race held in and around London and Surrey, England. First staged in 2013, it formed part of the RideLondon festival and became a UCI WorldTour event from 2017 to 2019. Unlike a stadium-based sporting event, the race took place on closed public roads, with a route linking central London to Surrey’s countryside and returning to the capital for the finish. Riders tackled rolling terrain and short climbs, including the challenging Box Hill circuit, before the fast-paced finale in London. The field featured professional teams from the international cycling circuit, with squads of riders competing for the victory and valuable season points. Rather than players in fixed positions, teams relied on specialists such as sprinters, climbers and domestiques, whose tactics shaped the race. The event attracted world-class cyclists and large crowds, while television coverage brought the action to viewers worldwide. The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic was last held in 2019 under that name; the RideLondon festival later continued with changes to its race programme.
