The Amstel Gold Race Ladies Edition is a prestigious one-day women’s road cycling race held each spring in the Limburg region of the Netherlands. Part of the UCI Women’s WorldTour since 2017, it brings together leading international teams and riders for a demanding course of short, steep climbs and technical roads. The race traditionally starts in Maastricht and finishes in Valkenburg, with the famous Cauberg climb among its defining features. There is no stadium: the event takes place on public roads, and spectators watch from towns, roadside climbs and the finish area. Teams such as SD Worx-Protime, Lidl-Trek, Canyon//SRAM zondacrypto and FDJ-SUEZ have featured in recent editions, though the starting line-up changes each year. Past winners include Marianne Vos, Anna van der Breggen, Kasia Niewiadoma and Demi Vollering, highlighting the race’s status as a test for elite women’s cycling. Its combination of repeated climbs, tactical racing and a celebrated finish makes the Amstel Gold Race Ladies Edition a key fixture for fans following professional cycling in the Netherlands and across Europe.
