The Six Day Berlin, known in German as the Berliner Sechstagerennen, is a historic track-cycling event held at the Velodrom in Berlin. First staged in 1909, the race became one of the best-known fixtures on the international six-day cycling calendar. Riders compete in pairs rather than conventional club or national teams, with partners combining endurance, speed and tactics across events such as the Madison, points race, elimination and sprint. The Velodrom’s indoor 250-metre track provides a fast, controlled setting for close racing and allows spectators to follow the action from the arena seating. The event has featured leading professional track cyclists from Germany and abroad, although line-ups vary by edition and should be checked against the official start list. The most recent edition was held in 2020; the race has not been staged annually since then. For fans searching for cycling in Berlin, the Six Day Berlin offers a distinctive look at elite track racing and the city’s long sporting tradition.
