Hyundai Card Super Match was a high-profile tennis exhibition featuring Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in Seoul, South Korea. The match took place on December 21, 2006, at Jamsil Indoor Stadium, bringing two of the sport’s leading players to a Korean audience. Federer, then a dominant force in men’s tennis, faced Nadal, his rising rival and a standout on clay courts. Nadal won the best-of-three-sets contest 6–4, 6–4. Unlike an ATP Tour tournament, Hyundai Card Super Match was a promotional exhibition rather than an official ranking event, so the result did not affect either player’s tour standings. Its appeal came from the rare opportunity to watch Federer and Nadal compete in person outside the regular tournament circuit. The Seoul event also reflected the growing international profile of tennis in South Korea and the role of major sports exhibitions in connecting global champions with local fans. For readers looking for information about the Hyundai Card Super Match tennis event, the key details are its featured players, Federer and Nadal; its venue, Jamsil Indoor Stadium; and its 2006 exhibition format.
