The <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/city-malaga">Málaga</a> Sevens is an international rugby union sevens tournament played in <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/city-malaga">Málaga</a>, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/team-spain-1">Spain</a>, where teams compete in fast-paced matches with seven players per side. The city hosted a round of the 2022 HSBC World <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-rugby-union/competition-rugby-sevens">Rugby Sevens</a> Series at Estadio Ciudad de <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/city-malaga">Málaga</a>, a multi-purpose stadium used for major sporting events. That edition featured leading men’s and women’s national teams, including <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/team-spain-1">Spain</a>, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/team-argentina-1">Argentina</a>, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-cricket/team-australia-1">Australia</a>, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-netball/team-fiji-1">Fiji</a>, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-rugby-union/team-france-1">France</a>, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-cricket/team-ireland-1">Ireland</a>, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/team-kenya-1">Kenya</a>, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-cricket/team-south-africa-1">South Africa</a> and the <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-baseball/team-united-states">United States</a>. The tournament brought together established sevens players and emerging talent, with points, tries and quick transitions shaping a compact schedule of pool matches and knock-out rounds. As a host venue, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/city-malaga">Málaga</a> offered spectators a chance to watch international rugby sevens in a dedicated stadium setting and helped showcase Spain’s growing role in the sport. The event is distinct from the traditional 15-a-side game: matches are shorter, the open space encourages speed and passing, and every possession can quickly change the score. For fans searching for <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/city-malaga">Málaga</a> Sevens information, the 2022 series round is a useful reference for its teams, players, format and stadium.
