La Duecento is an annual offshore sailing race organized by the Circolo Nautico Santa Margherita in Caorle, Italy. The event challenges competing yacht crews on a course of approximately 200 nautical miles across the northern Adriatic Sea, starting and finishing at Porto Santa Margherita. The traditional route takes boats from Caorle toward Grado and the Croatian island of Sansego (Susak) before returning to the finish, although the course can be adjusted for safety and weather conditions. Unlike a stadium-based sport, La Duecento unfolds at sea, with the Adriatic serving as its competition venue. Teams enter their own sailing yachts and compete in crew formats that include double-handed teams, known as X2, and fully crewed boats, known as XTutti. Results are determined by sailing performance and the applicable race rules and classifications; there are no fixed player rosters like those in team sports. The race tests navigation, sail handling, endurance and teamwork, as crews contend with changing wind and sea conditions. For sailing fans, La Duecento is a prominent Italian offshore regatta and a demanding test of both boat and crew.
