The 151 Miglia-Trofeo Cetilar is a major Italian offshore sailing race that brings together experienced crews and competitive yacht teams on a challenging course through the Tuscan Archipelago. Rather than taking place in a traditional stadium, the event unfolds across open water, with the start in Livorno and the finish at Punta Ala, subject to the official course for each edition. The approximately 151-nautical-mile route typically takes boats past islands including Gorgona, Capraia and Elba, testing navigation, teamwork and sail handling in changing Mediterranean conditions. The fleet features yachts in different classes, from high-performance racing boats to vessels combining speed with cruising comfort; each team relies on its skipper and crew rather than individual players. The regatta is associated with the Yacht Club Repubblica Marinara di Italy1, the Yacht Club Punta Ala and the Yacht Club Livorno, which contribute to its organization. For spectators, the start and finish areas offer the clearest opportunities to follow the action, while the offshore race can also be tracked through event updates. With its demanding coastal route and strong sailing participation, 151 Miglia is a standout fixture on Italy’s offshore sailing calendar.
