Middle East Explore the latest Middle East information from SailGP at your fingertips

Sailing in the Middle East brings together national teams, yacht clubs and individual sailors for competition on the region’s coastal waters, from the Arabian Gulf to the Red Sea and Mediterranean. Events may feature dinghy, catamaran, keelboat and offshore racing, with athletes competing in classes suited to their experience and the local conditions. Rather than a traditional stadium, each sailing event uses a designated racecourse on open water, supported by a marina or sailing club that provides boat storage, registration and shore facilities. Spectators can follow the action from waterfront viewing areas or through event updates, depending on the venue and race format. Results are decided by performance across scheduled races, with course positions, wind direction, current and tactical decisions all influencing the standings. Team entries and participating sailors vary by competition, so official event announcements are the best source for confirmed rosters, schedules and results. For fans searching for Middle East sailing news, this page offers a useful introduction to the sport’s regional events, competitors, venues and race-day format, while recognizing that conditions and participating teams differ from one regatta to another.
