The IRC European Championship is a competitive offshore and inshore sailing event for monohull yachts measured under the International Rating Certificate (IRC) rule. Rather than taking place in a traditional stadium, racing is held on coastal waters, with the host venue, course layout and schedule varying by edition. Crews compete aboard yachts in IRC rating classes, allowing boats of different designs and sizes to race on a corrected-time basis. Each team combines a skipper or owner with sailors responsible for tactics, navigation, sail handling and boat control; crew numbers depend on the yacht and the event’s rules. The championship attracts experienced club and professional sailors, with results decided by performance across a series of races rather than a single match. Courses may include windward-leeward legs, coastal routes or other formats set by race organizers and conditions. For fans searching for IRC European Championship sailing results, teams, sailors and race information, the event offers a close look at yacht racing, crew strategy and IRC handicap competition. Specific competitors, participating yacht clubs, dates and the host sailing venue are announced for each championship edition.
