The Ratzeburg International Regatta is a long-running rowing competition held in Ratzeburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Staged on Küchensee, the event brings together national squads, club crews and emerging rowers for races in multiple boat classes. Competitors may include athletes in single sculls, pair and four-person boats, and eights, with line-ups varying by year and event programme. The regatta is associated with Ratzeburg’s strong rowing tradition and offers teams an opportunity to test their speed and coordination against international opposition. Racing takes place on the lake’s regatta course, providing a scenic setting close to the town; it is not held in a conventional stadium. Events are typically organised around scheduled heats and finals, with results determined by finishing times. The competition is especially relevant to rowing fans following national crews and developing talent, and it attracts spectators to the lakeside to watch races from the course banks. Dates, participating countries, categories and race schedules can change annually, so visitors and supporters should consult the current organiser information before planning attendance.
