The FISU World University Championships Rowing is an international university sports competition organized under the International University Sports Federation (FISU), bringing together student-athletes who represent their countries and universities. National teams compete in rowing events across different boat classes, with races typically held for men and women and featuring disciplines such as single sculls, double sculls, pair, and team boats, depending on the championship program. Athletes combine speed, endurance, coordination, and precise teamwork as they race over a marked course, commonly 2,000 metres. Unlike sports played in a conventional stadium, rowing takes place on a suitable lake, river, or other protected body of water, with a finish area, start pontoons, and spectator facilities along the course. The host city and venue vary by edition, so the event does not have one permanent stadium. For university rowing teams, the championship offers an opportunity to compete internationally, represent their institutions and nations, and test themselves against leading student rowers from around the world. Results, participating countries, event schedules, and venue details are announced for each edition by FISU and the local organizers.
