The European Rowing Under 23 Championships is an annual international rowing competition where national teams from across Europe race for continental titles. Organized under European Rowing, the event features emerging athletes who compete in the under-23 age category, offering a major pathway between junior rowing and senior-level competition. Each country selects rowers and crews to represent its federation in men’s and women’s events, including sweep rowing and sculling boat classes. Races are contested over the standard 2,000-metre course, with crews aiming to advance through heats and semifinals to the finals. The championships do not have a permanent stadium: the host venue changes from year to year and is typically a purpose-built rowing course on a lake or river, with grandstands and facilities for spectators, teams and officials. The changing location brings European rowing fans to a different host city each edition. For athletes, the event is an opportunity to test speed, teamwork and race strategy against the continent’s strongest U23 competitors. Results, participating teams, race schedules and venue information vary by edition, making the championships an important annual fixture on the European rowing calendar.
