The World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships is an international athletics competition where national teams meet to race for individual and team honors. Organized by World Athletics, the event brings together elite men’s and women’s race walkers, along with under-20 athletes, representing countries from across the world. Depending on the edition, the program includes senior 20-kilometer races, under-20 events, and the mixed marathon race walk relay. Athletes compete on a measured road course, usually laid out on city streets, rather than on a conventional athletics stadium track; the host city and course change from one championship to the next. A central start-and-finish area supports spectators and event operations, while repeated laps let fans follow the action closely. Team standings are determined from athletes’ finishing positions, so strong national squads can contend for medals as well as individual champions. The championships have a long history, beginning as the IAAF World Race Walking Cup in 1961 before adopting their current name. For race walking results, national team lineups, event schedules, course details, and championship records, this competition offers a major international showcase of endurance and technique.
