The World Cup of Pool is an international nine-ball tournament featuring national teams of two players, bringing together leading professionals to compete for their countries. Organized by Matchroom, the event began in 2006 and has attracted teams from pool-playing nations including the Philippines, England, the United States, Germany and China. Each match pairs teammates in a doubles contest, where coordination, tactical safety play and precision shooting are as important as individual skill. Past champions and competitors have included celebrated players such as Efren Reyes, Francisco Bustamante, Darren Appleton, Niels Feijen and Joshua Filler, although team lineups change from year to year. The tournament does not have a permanent stadium: its host city and venue vary by edition, with matches staged in purpose-built arenas or established event venues rather than a fixed sports ground. This international format, high-profile player pairings and lively atmosphere make the World Cup of Pool a major fixture on the professional billiards calendar. Fans can follow national team results, match schedules, player rosters and venue announcements to keep up with the latest tournament action.
