The World Wide Technology Championship is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour, played in Mexico and known for bringing international attention to elite golf in Los Cabos. Founded in 2007 as the Mayakoba Golf Classic, the event was held for many years at El Camaleón Golf Course before moving in 2023 to El Cardonal at Diamante in Cabo San Lucas. Designed by Tiger Woods, El Cardonal is a par-72 course that offers wide fairways, strategic bunkers and views of the Baja California landscape. Golf is an individual sport, so competitors do not represent teams; the field typically includes PGA Tour professionals from the United States, Mexico and other countries. Players compete over four rounds, with the lowest cumulative score deciding the champion, subject to the tournament’s cut after two rounds. The championship provides FedExCup points and prize money, making it an important stop for players seeking to improve their season standings. Fans searching for World Wide Technology Championship golf updates can follow tournament results, the course, participating players and past champions.
