The <a href="/competition-pga-tour/event-safeway-open">Safeway Open</a>, formerly known as the Fry's Electronics Open, is an annual <a href="/sport-golf/competition-pga-tour">PGA Tour</a> <a href="/sport-golf">golf</a> tournament held at the <a href="/stadium-silverado-resort-and-spa">Silverado Resort and Spa</a> in <a href="/ctiy-napa">Napa</a>, California. The tournament was first established in 2007 and became an official PGA Tour event in 2016. It is the first event of the new PGA Tour season and boasts a $6.8 million purse. The tournament attracts some of the biggest names in golf including past champions such as Brendan Steele, Emiliano Grillo, and Cameron Champ. The Safeway Open offers spectators a chance to see top golfers in action on the picturesque North Course at Silverado, as well as enjoy the beautiful wine country surroundings. In addition, the tournament has a strong commitment to charity, with proceeds benefiting various organizations such as the Safeway Foundation and the Napa Valley Community Foundation.
