The Hero World Challenge is an annual professional golf tournament hosted by Tiger Woods and held at Albany Golf Course in New Providence, The Bahamas. Unlike team competitions, the event features a select field of individual players, typically 20 of the world’s leading golfers, competing over 72 holes of stroke play with no cut. The Albany course is a championship links-style layout designed by Ernie Els, with coastal scenery, challenging bunkers and strategic water hazards. Although the tournament is not an official PGA Tour event, it attracts elite international talent and awards official world ranking points, making it a notable fixture on the golf calendar. Usually played in December, the Hero World Challenge combines high-level competition with a charitable purpose, supporting the TGR Foundation and its education initiatives. Past participants and champions have included major winners and top-ranked players, while the compact field creates an opportunity to follow every competitor throughout the week. For golf fans searching for Hero World Challenge dates, players, venue details and tournament format, Albany Golf Course serves as the event’s distinctive setting rather than a traditional stadium.
