The Sanford International was a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour Champions schedule, played from 2018 through 2022 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Rather than featuring teams, the event brought together individual golfers aged 50 and older for a 54-hole competition. Its venue was Minnehaha Country Club, a private course known for its tree-lined fairways and challenging greens; it was a golf course, not a stadium. The tournament attracted well-known senior players, including Steve Stricker, Rocco Mediate, and Miguel Ángel Jiménez. Mediate won the inaugural Sanford International in 2018, while Stricker claimed the title in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Jiménez won the final edition in 2022. As a PGA Tour Champions event, the Sanford International gave fans in South Dakota the opportunity to watch established professional golfers compete close to home and added a major sporting attraction to the Sioux Falls calendar. Although it is no longer an active tournament, its results, players, and Minnehaha Country Club setting remain part of the event’s history in professional golf.
