Principal Charity Classic Explore the latest Principal Charity Classic information from the PGA Tour Champions at your fingertips

The Principal Charity Classic is a professional golf tournament on the PGA TOUR Champions schedule, held each year in Des Moines, Iowa. Unlike team sports, the event features individual competition among professional golfers aged 50 and older, with players aiming to post the lowest score over three rounds. The tournament is played at Wakonda Club, a private golf course in Des Moines that has hosted the event since 2013. Its 54-hole format brings together experienced players, including major champions and well-known TOUR Champions competitors such as Bernhard Langer, Ernie Els and Steve Stricker when they enter the field. The event typically takes place in late spring or early summer, with exact dates and participants varying by year. Alongside the professional tournament, fans can enjoy golf-related activities and a community atmosphere. The Principal Charity Classic is also known for its charitable mission: proceeds and fundraising support Iowa children’s charities and youth-focused organizations. For golf fans searching for tournament details, course information, player coverage and results, the event combines high-level senior golf with a strong local impact.
