The Hoag Classic is a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour Champions schedule, bringing leading players aged 50 and older to Newport Beach, California. Played at Newport Beach Country Club, the event features a challenging coastal course known for its tree-lined fairways, strategic bunkers and compact greens. Unlike team competitions, the Hoag Classic is an individual stroke-play event, with players competing across 54 holes for the title and a share of the tournament purse. The field typically includes major championship winners, former PGA Tour stars and established Champions Tour professionals, making it a popular stop for fans who want to see golf legends compete. First held in 1995 as the Toshiba Senior Classic, the tournament adopted the Hoag Classic name in 2018. Beyond the competition, the event supports charitable organizations and community programs in Orange County, reflecting its long-running local connection. Spectators can follow the action around the course and enjoy a tournament setting in the heart of Newport Beach. For golf fans seeking schedule details, player information, course updates and tournament results, the Hoag Classic offers a distinctive Southern California stop on the senior golf calendar.
