The <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/competition-nwsl">NWSL</a> Draft was a player-selection event in which National Women’s Soccer League clubs chose eligible college players and other qualified prospects to strengthen their rosters. Held annually from 2013 through 2023, it gave teams such as the <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/country-united-states/city-portland-1">Portland</a> Thorns, OL Reign, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/team-north-carolina-courage">North Carolina Courage</a>, <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/city-chicago">Chicago</a> Red Stars and <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/team-washington-spirit">Washington Spirit</a> opportunities to add emerging talent, with selection order generally shaped by league rules and team performance. Draft picks included future professionals aiming to join established stars and compete for places in the <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/competition-nwsl">NWSL</a> regular season. Unlike a soccer match, the draft was not played in a stadium; its venue changed over the years, and the 2023 <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/competition-nwsl">NWSL</a> Draft took place at the <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/stadium-pennsylvania-convention-center">Pennsylvania Convention Center</a> in <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/city-philadelphia">Philadelphia</a>. The league did not hold a 2024 draft, reflecting changes to its player-acquisition system and the growth of free agency. For fans, the <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/competition-nwsl">NWSL</a> Draft offered a look at roster building, college-to-professional transitions and the prospects who could influence the league’s future. Its history remains relevant to searches for <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/sport-football/competition-nwsl">NWSL</a> draft picks, participating teams, player selections and the event’s <a href="https://www.fixturecalendar.com/city-philadelphia">Philadelphia</a> venue.
