The Knoxville NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, officially known as the Corn Belt 150, brought NASCAR’s national truck competition to Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on July 9, 2021. The event marked the series’ first visit to the historic dirt oval and gave drivers a distinctive challenge compared with the paved tracks on the schedule. Knoxville Raceway is a half-mile dirt track best known for hosting major sprint-car events, so teams had to adapt their trucks and strategies to changing grip, loose surfaces and close-quarters racing. The field included leading NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams such as Hattori Racing Enterprises, Kyle Busch Motorsports and ThorSport Racing. Austin Hill of Hattori Racing Enterprises won the inaugural Corn Belt 150, with Sheldon Creed and John Hunter Nemechek among the notable contenders. The race combined the series’ familiar mix of established drivers and emerging talent with Knoxville’s long-standing dirt-racing atmosphere.
