The <a href="/competition-marathons/event-london-marathon">London Marathon</a> is a marathon event which was first ran in 1981 and has been a part of the World Marathon Majors since 2006, which includes five other top level marathon races. The event is run by both professionals and amateurs, although they run in separate classifications. Some famous winners of the elite race include Paula Radcliffe and Mary Jepkosgei Keitany in the women’s event, and Khalid Khannouchi, Eliud Kipchoge, and Kelvin Kiptum in the men’s event.
