The World Athletics Half Marathon Championships is an international road-running competition where elite athletes represent their countries over the 21.0975-kilometre half-marathon distance. Organized by World Athletics, the championship began in 1992 and brings together national teams and leading distance runners from around the world. Competitors race for individual honors, while team classifications have also featured in the event’s history. Unlike a track championship, it does not have one permanent stadium: the course runs through the host city, with the start and finish locations changing from edition to edition. Some editions form part of the World Athletics Road Running Championships, which also features other road-racing distances. The event’s city course gives runners a chance to compete on public roads, while spectators can follow the race at multiple points or through live coverage. Championship results, course records, national team entries, athlete profiles, and race schedules are useful resources for fans tracking the competition. Because the host venue and participating athletes vary, check the official event information for the latest course details, confirmed runners, and start times.
