The Portland Classic is a professional golf tournament in Portland, Oregon, and one of the longest-running events on the LPGA Tour. Founded in 1972, it brings together leading women golfers from the United States and around the world to compete in a multi-round stroke-play event. Golf is an individual sport, so players compete for the title rather than representing teams, although the field includes athletes from many countries. The tournament is held at Columbia Edgewater Country Club, a private golf club in northeast Portland known for its tree-lined fairways, water features, and challenging course layout. Unlike a traditional stadium event, spectators follow the action around the course and watch players approach greens, make putts, and navigate hazards. The Portland Classic attracts golf fans, local residents, and visitors, while showcasing the city as a destination for major professional sports. Its history, international player field, and distinctive Portland setting make it a notable stop on the women’s golf calendar. For current dates, player lists, ticket details, and tournament updates, check the official event information before planning a visit.
