Mayakoba Explore the latest Mayakoba information from the LIV Golf League at your fingertips

Mayakoba is a professional golf event played at El Camaleón Golf Course, part of the Mayakoba resort in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. The course, designed by Greg Norman, is known for its tropical setting, coastal holes, mangroves and cenotes, with the Caribbean Sea bordering parts of the layout. From 2007 through 2022, it hosted the PGA Tour’s Mayakoba Golf Classic, later known as the World Wide Technology Championship; the tournament moved to a different Mexican course in 2023. El Camaleón then hosted LIV Golf Mayakoba in 2023 and 2024. Unlike traditional stroke-play tournaments, LIV Golf combines individual competition with a team contest: players compete for their own scores while also representing four-player teams, including squads such as Crushers GC and Torque GC. The field brings together internationally recognized professionals, with participants and team lineups varying by season. Spectators can follow individual rounds, team standings and the course’s distinctive coastal challenges. For golf fans researching Mayakoba, the venue’s location, tournament history, course design and mix of individual and team play make it a notable stop in Mexico’s professional golf calendar.
