The Peterborough, officially known as the Peterborough Chase, is a Grade 2 National Hunt horse-racing event staged at Huntingdon Racecourse in Cambridgeshire, England. Run over approximately two miles and four furlongs, the steeplechase tests horses over a series of fences and attracts experienced jump-racing runners, jockeys and trainers from across Britain and Ireland. Unlike team sports, the contest is decided by individual horse-and-jockey combinations, with the first horse to complete the course and cross the finish line declared the winner. Huntingdon’s racecourse provides the setting for this established winter fixture, which is generally held in December and forms part of the British jumps-racing calendar. The Peterborough Chase is known for bringing together high-quality chasers and can offer useful form ahead of other major National Hunt races later in the season. Spectators can follow the runners, jockeys and trainers through the racecard and results, while betting interest and the competitive field add to the event’s appeal. For horse-racing fans searching for Peterborough Chase information, Huntingdon Racecourse details, race results or National Hunt fixtures, this event is a notable highlight of the season.
