The November Meeting is a major three-day National Hunt horse racing event held each year at Cheltenham Racecourse, at Prestbury Park in Gloucestershire, England. Usually staged in mid-November, it brings together leading jump horses, jockeys and trainers for a competitive programme of hurdle races and steeplechases. The meeting’s best-known contest is the Paddy Power Gold Cup, a Grade 3 handicap chase that regularly attracts experienced horses and emerging contenders preparing for the winter season. Other races across the fixture give runners opportunities over different distances and obstacles, with fields ranging from promising novices to established performers. Cheltenham’s undulating turf course, demanding fences and uphill finish test stamina, jumping ability and race tactics, making the venue a distinctive challenge for both horses and riders. Unlike team sports, racing features individual horse-and-jockey partnerships competing for owners and trainers, while the results also contribute to wider seasonal form and reputations. For spectators, the November Meeting combines high-level racing with the atmosphere of one of Britain’s best-known jump racing venues. Dates, race details and participating runners vary each year, so visitors should check the official Cheltenham Racecourse schedule for current information.
