The Kauto Star Novices’ Chase is a Grade 1 National Hunt horse race held at Kempton Park Racecourse in Surrey, England, traditionally on Boxing Day. Formerly known as the Feltham Novices’ Chase, it was renamed in honour of Kauto Star, the celebrated chaser who won the King George VI Chase at Kempton a record five times. The race is run over approximately three miles and features novice steeplechasers tackling a demanding course of fences, making it an important test of stamina, jumping ability and race tactics. Rather than competing teams, the contenders represent their owners, trainers and jockeys, with leading British and Irish yards often targeting the event as a major winter prize. Its place on Kempton’s Christmas racing programme gives the contest a high-profile audience and makes it a useful form guide for future championship chases. Notable winners include Long Run, Might Bite and Bravemansgame, all of whom went on to achieve success at the highest level. For fans searching for Kauto Star Novices’ Chase details, Kempton Park is the venue to follow for results, entries and race-day coverage.
