The December Novices’ is a British National Hunt horse-racing event held at Doncaster Racecourse, where emerging jump horses compete over fences or hurdles as they develop their racing careers. Unlike team sports, the contest features individual horses, each ridden by a jockey and prepared by a trainer, with owners and racing yards also closely followed by fans. Doncaster’s turf course provides the setting for a demanding winter test, and runners must combine jumping accuracy, stamina and speed to finish ahead of the field. The event gives novice horses an opportunity to gain experience against rivals at a similar stage of their careers, while helping trainers assess their prospects for future races. Racegoers and viewers can follow the declared runners, jockey bookings, form, going conditions and final results to understand how the field shapes up. For sports fans searching for The December Novices’, Doncaster Racecourse, novice horse racing and British National Hunt racing, this event offers a focused look at up-and-coming jump horses and the people guiding them through the season. Check the official race-day information for the latest schedule and confirmed participants.
