The GMR Grand Prix is an IndyCar Series race held on the road course at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in Speedway, Indiana. The event gives drivers a different challenge from the oval racing associated with the venue, using a 2.439-mile, 14-turn circuit that combines tight corners, braking zones and fast sections. Competing teams have included major IndyCar outfits such as Team Penske, Chip Ganassi Racing, Andretti Autosport and Arrow McLaren, with drivers battling for position and valuable championship points. Past entrants have featured stars including Scott Dixon, Will Power, Josef Newgarden and Colton Herta, though the field changes from season to season. The race was known as the GMR Grand Prix from 2020 through 2023; its title sponsor and event name have since changed, so fans should check the current IndyCar schedule for the latest listing. Often staged in May as part of the build-up to the Indianapolis 500, the Grand Prix offers a road-course view of the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Race results, qualifying, team lineups and driver updates make the event a notable stop on the IndyCar calendar.
