The Showdown was a made-for-television golf event held on December 17, 2024, at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas, Nevada. The match brought together four of the sport’s leading players in a contest between PGA Tour stars Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy and LIV Golf players Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka. Rather than a traditional tournament with a full field, The Showdown featured the two teams competing head-to-head over 18 holes. The format included three six-hole segments: four-ball, alternate shot and singles play, testing both partnership strategy and individual performance. Scheffler and McIlroy won the match, earning two of the three available segment points. Shadow Creek, a private course known for its landscaped setting and demanding holes, provided the Las Vegas venue for the high-profile meeting. The event drew attention for placing golfers associated with rival tours on opposing teams and offered viewers a direct comparison of their play in a relaxed, televised format. The Showdown is also searchable by its full event name, “The Showdown: Rory and Scottie vs. Bryson and Brooks.”
