The Tattersalls Musidora Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race for three-year-old fillies, held each spring at York Racecourse in England during the Dante Festival. Run over one mile, two furlongs and 56 yards, the race tests stamina and speed on York’s expansive turf course. It is widely regarded as an important trial for the Epsom Oaks, giving promising fillies the opportunity to demonstrate their form before the season’s premier Classic races. The contest is named after Musidora, the filly who won the Oaks, 1,000 Guineas and St Leger in 1949, and has been staged since 1961. Tattersalls, the historic bloodstock auction company, sponsors the event. Rather than competing teams, the main participants are the horses, their trainers and jockeys, with owners and breeding connections also closely followed by racing fans. The race attracts strong interest from bettors and enthusiasts assessing potential Oaks contenders, while York Racecourse provides a prominent setting for one of the leading British races for three-year-old fillies. Results, entries and race-day coverage make the Musidora Stakes a key fixture on the British flat racing calendar.
