The Superior Mile is a Group 3 flat horse race held at Haydock Park Racecourse in Merseyside, England. Contested over one mile on turf, it brings together three-year-old and older thoroughbreds competing for a notable prize during the British racing season. The race is traditionally staged in September as part of the Sprint Cup meeting, a major fixture on Haydock’s calendar. Rather than teams, the field is made up of individual horses, each partnered by a jockey and prepared by a trainer; owners and racing yards also play an important role in each runner’s campaign. Haydock Park’s course provides the setting, with the mile test rewarding speed, stamina and effective positioning. The Superior Mile has been run since 2003 and has developed a place among the season’s key opportunities for milers seeking a Group-level victory. For racing fans, form guides and results offer useful details on entrants, jockey bookings, trainers and finishing positions. The event combines high-class British flat racing with a competitive field, making the Superior Mile a popular search for information about race day, runners and Haydock Park.
