The Shadwell Rockfel Stakes is an English flat horse racing event held annually in late September at the Newmarket Racecourse in Suffolk, England. Sponsored by the Shadwell Estate Company, the race is open to two-year-old fillies and is run over a distance of 7 furlongs. The race was first established in 1969 and was named after the filly Rockfel, who was the leading two-year-old filly in England in 1938. The event has a total prize fund of £70,000, with the winner receiving £39,697. Previous winners of the Shadwell Rockfel Stakes include notable fillies such as Minding, Laurens, and Sky Lantern. The race is considered an important trial for the following year's 1000 Guineas and has produced many successful fillies over the years. The Newmarket Racecourse, known as the "Home of Horseracing," is the perfect setting for this prestigious event, attracting top jockeys, trainers, and thoroughbreds from around the world.
