The QIPCO Dahlia Stakes is a prestigious Group 2 flat horse race held at Newmarket Racecourse in Suffolk, England, during the spring Guineas Festival. Run over one mile and one furlong on the Rowley Mile course, the race is open to fillies and mares aged four and older. Rather than teams competing, the field features individual horses, each partnered by a jockey and supported by a trainer and racing yard. The Dahlia Stakes provides an important early-season test for established middle-distance performers and mares returning to competition after a winter break. Its position on a major weekend in the British racing calendar attracts strong fields, leading jockeys and considerable attention from race fans and bettors. The event is named after Dahlia, the celebrated mare who won major races in Europe and North America during the 1970s. Sponsored by QIPCO, the race combines high-quality competition with Newmarket’s long history as a centre of Thoroughbred racing. For visitors, the Rowley Mile offers a distinctive course setting and an opportunity to enjoy elite flat racing alongside the festival’s other headline contests.
