The Diamond Jubilee Stakes is a Group 1 flat horse race and one of the major sprint contests at Royal Ascot in Berkshire, England. Run over six furlongs on the straight turf course, it brings together leading thoroughbred sprinters aged four and older, with horses, jockeys and trainers representing racing yards from Britain and abroad. Rather than competing as teams, each horse runs as an individual entry, and the winner is determined by finishing position. Staged on the final Saturday of the Royal Ascot meeting in June, the race is known for its fast pace and closely matched fields, making it a highlight for fans of elite sprint racing. Its name commemorates Queen Elizabeth II’s Diamond Jubilee, and the contest has a history of title changes, including its earlier identity as the Cork and Orrery Stakes and Golden Jubilee Stakes. As a prestigious six-furlong championship, the Diamond Jubilee Stakes attracts accomplished sprinters and offers an important test of speed, acceleration and stamina. For visitors and viewers, Royal Ascot provides the setting for this celebrated event, combining top-level racing with one of the best-known fixtures on the British sporting calendar.
