The Scandinavian Invitation was a professional golf tournament in Sweden and a fixture on the European Tour, now known as the DP World Tour. Played at Hills Golf & Sports Club in Mölndal, near Gothenburg, the event brought international golf players together to compete on a scenic course designed by Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest. Unlike team sports, the tournament featured individual golfers seeking the title over four rounds of stroke play, with each player’s score determining the final leaderboard. The competition was previously known as the Nordea Masters and adopted the Scandinavian Invitation name in 2018. English golfer Paul Waring won that year, while South African golfer Erik van Rooyen claimed the 2019 title after a dramatic playoff. Hills Golf & Sports Club, which opened in 2005, provided a challenging setting with varied terrain and strategic holes suited to elite professional golf. The Scandinavian Invitation is a notable part of Sweden’s golf history, attracting top players from across Europe and beyond and offering fans the chance to watch world-class golf near Gothenburg. The tournament’s results, champions and venue remain of interest to followers of European golf.
