The British Diving Championships is a major annual national event showcasing the United Kingdom’s leading springboard and platform divers. Organised by British Swimming, the competition features individual and synchronised events, with athletes representing clubs and home nations across junior and senior age groups. Divers compete from one- and three-metre springboards and 10-metre platforms, earning scores from judges for technique, height, execution and entry into the water. The championships do not have a permanent stadium; the venue can change, and Sheffield’s Ponds Forge International Sports Centre has frequently hosted the event. Its indoor diving facilities provide dedicated springboards, platforms and seating for spectators. British stars such as Tom Daley, Jack Laugher, Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix and Grace Reid have competed in British national diving events, although the field varies each year. Results help identify national champions and provide an important measure of form ahead of international competitions and selection opportunities.
