The Battle of the Brits is a British tennis exhibition event created to give leading homegrown players the chance to compete during the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The inaugural competition took place in June 2020 at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, London, and was played behind closed doors under health and safety measures. Organised by former doubles world No. 1 Jamie Murray, the event featured a team format that brought together prominent players from across Britain, including Andy Murray, Jamie Murray, Dan Evans, Kyle Edmund and Cameron Norrie. Matches included singles and doubles, with points contributing to the teams’ overall standings. The National Tennis Centre, the Lawn Tennis Association’s high-performance training base, provided indoor and outdoor courts for the competition. The Battle of the Brits offered fans a rare opportunity to watch elite British tennis during a period when much of the professional tour was suspended, while also giving players valuable match practice. Its name has been used for subsequent British tennis exhibition events, so details such as players, format and schedule can vary by edition.
